Yoruba Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi who has been very vocal since news broke out that Baba Ijesha raped a minor has given more update on his case.
Yomi Fabiyi who has been supporting his embattled colleague who was accused of raping comedian Princess’s foster daughter has disclosed more about his trial.
Recall that Baba Ijesha was arraigned in court yesterday, June 16 where he was denied bail by Lagos State Magistrate court as his case has been filed at the state High Court.
Yomi Fabiyi who was present at the court room claimed that the actor was charged with sexual assault and not rape as Princess had alleged. Yomi stated that the police didnot have any evidence against him for rape and the victim also insisted that Baba Ijesha never raped her.
Yomi called for the prosecution of all adults involve in the CCTV footage.
“The POLICE are so honest in this case that they filed the case of Baba Ijesha to a MAGISTRATE COURT with Sexual Assault charges only. At least, it is the Police that did investigation.
The Police took a stand that they cannot charge the suspect with a crime they have no evidence especially when the girl said repeatedly BABA IJESHA never had sex with her. Baba Ijesha NEVER had sex with the girl at anytime.
And suddenly someone from Lagos DPP entered the court and told the judge that they have filed the case at the HIGH COURT. Magistrate hands off.
I am still laughing but trust me. I am not fighting the State Govt but I will stand by what his tight and Baba Ijesha will”.
