Wire star Lance Reddick has passed away at the age of 60 — just a day after the photo was posted cuddling with his dogs.

Lance Reddick has passed away at the age of 60 – just days after he failed to show up for the New York premiere.

His agent Mia Hansen said that Riddick – who played Cedric Daniels in the hit crime series – died from “sudden” and “natural causes”.

We will miss Lance very much. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time,” Hansen said in a statement.

Tributes poured in for the “incredibly talented” actor after his body was discovered in his Studio City, Calif., home at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Just yesterday, he uploaded a photo of himself curled up with his three dogs at home in a promotional Instagram post about Hard Rock Hotels and National Puppy Day.

Riddick was in the middle of a promotional tour for his own John Wick franchise, starring as Concierge Sharon.

On Wednesday night he was scheduled to attend the premiere of Wick 4 alongside co-star Keanu Reaves but failed to show up. Riddick did not explain his absence.

It was also reported that he was scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show next week.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the actor’s representatives for comment.

Yesterday he posted several pictures of himself with his three dogs in a promotion for Hard Rock Hotels.

“On and off screen,” he wrote, “it’s no surprise that I love spoiling my dogs.”

Three days ago, he shared a video of himself joyfully singing “And the beat goes on” as his fangs bark in the background.

Riddick is best remembered for his role as Daniels on the HBO crime series The Wire, in which he appeared in all 60 episodes alongside stars including Dominic West and Idris Elba.

His death comes less than two years after fellow The Wire star Michael Williams died at the age of 54 from a drug overdose in September 2021.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick, daughter Yvonne Nicole Reddick, and son Christopher Reddick.

Stars raced to Twitter to pay tribute to the “incredibly talented” actor as news of his death broke on Friday.

‘A man of great strength and grace,’ said Wendell Pearce, a colleague on The Wire.

A talented musician, he was also an actor. Class example. A sudden, sharp, sudden sadness for our artistic family.

Unimaginable suffering for his family and loved ones. Good luck my friend. You left your mark here. to cut’

This is heartbreaking. My love extends to all of his family, friends and collaborators.

Fans have shared their favorite clips of Reddick including one scene from The Eric Andre Show where he stunned the host in a satirical skit.

One Twitter user wrote: ‘RIP Lance Reddick. One of my favorite actors and the only person who ever scared Eric Andre.

He’s always given the performance of his life in whatever he’s in from John Wick to The Wire to Fringe. We will miss him very much.”

The son of Dorothy G. and Solomon Riddick, Lance was born in Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended the Quaker Friends School of Baltimore.

He went on to study music at the Peabody Preparatory Institute, before switching to acting.

In the early 1990s, Riddick attended the Yale School of Drama, eventually earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1994.

Despite landing high-profile roles in TV shows like The Wire, Reddick has managed to keep his private life out of the spotlight.
