Four wildfires have broken out along Wanneroo Road, and one fire threatened lives and homes on Monday afternoon.
A fire in Nowergup was reduced to just before 7.30pm after firefighters contained the blaze.
Residents surrounded by Nowergup Road to the south, Gibbs Road to the east, Karoborup Road to the north and Wanneroo Road to the west are being asked to remain alert as the fire remains out of control.
Earlier around 5:30pm, residents were urged to watch for bushfires and act quickly in a northeasterly direction.
All four fires broke out along Wanneroo Road and Indian Ocean Drive just after 4 p.m.
Firefighters and aircraft were called in to fight the blaze and reinforce containment lines.
Wanneroo Road is closed in both directions between Hester Avenue and Karoborup Road.
Only light vehicles are permitted to drive along Indian Ocean Drive south between Old Yanchep Road and Romeo Road.
Heavy vehicles are diverted onto Old Yanchip Road.
The cause of the fires has not yet been confirmed.
