Two teenagers charged after torturing and killing a cat in Sydney

Two teenagers have been charged with animal cruelty after they allegedly tortured and killed a cat in north Sydney.

Police alleged that two boys, ages 12 and 14, took the cat from a home around 4:30pm on March 8, 2023.

The cat was allegedly taken to a nearby location where it was assaulted and killed.

After extensive inquiries, detectives from Riverston District Command arrested both teens at a home in Glenwood around 5pm yesterday, before taking them to Riverstone Police Station.

Both boys were accused of torturing an animal, beating it, causing its death, and disposing of a killed or stolen animal.

They have been released on strict conditional bail and will appear in Children’s Court on Tuesday 4th April 2023.
