Toyin Abraham reacts to criticisms from her new movie ‘The Prophetess’


Dynamic and Versatile Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has been heavily criticised for her role in the newly released movie,The Prophetess.

The movie which was proudly produced by veteran filmmaker, Niyi Akinmolayan,received lots of buzz has it premiered last weekend. The movie which is currently screening in cinemas nationwide has received negative feedbacks from many viewers as many condemned the movie for been too adulterated.

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham who played the lead role in the movies as been repeatedly bashed online for her role in the movie.

A movie critics on Instagram identified as Cinema Pointer, did a review on the movie and condemned it for been too chaotic and noisy. The critic advise people not to watch the movie as it is not recommendable.

They wrote : “ Not Recommended . Chaotic and noisy, ‘The Prophetess’ is One Hundred and Forth Four minutes if nonsense”.

Toyin who wasnot impressed with such bad review, in a series of post blasted the movie critic as she believes they are a hater of her works. The mum of one dragged the critic to filth as she insist she would never bribe them to give her brand positive reviews.

In a lengthy post, she wrote:

” I can bet my life that you’re someone in the industry that doesn’t like me cause I’m doing great and you cannot stop me. Any movie I act in or produce you always trash it. I’m sure you thought I produce prophetess but no o didn’t produce, I only acted in it. I have my audience and market, I keep feeding them.

My darling, making 130 million during the pandemic and end Sara is not a joke and being number one on Netflix for weeks is not a fluke. Prophetess is about Nigeria, for Nigerians and made by Nigerians ( Mr Niyi Akinmolayan) and you say bad things about it. Cinemapointer, whoever you are and whoever paid you, I leave you to your conscience.

And lastly, like I said, I am a brand and I know my market and I will never stop feeding my market. Peace and live.

NB: We won’t bribe you the way others are bribing you, so keep saying trash; but let God judge you. If you want me to really believe your reviews, my darling show your face”.
