The Royal Highland Show showcases a rich history on historic buildings across Scotland

One of the places was in the Scottish Borders.

The events, which were free to attend the expected expressive visuals, are woven with never-before-seen treasures and untold stories from the show’s archives.

In all, there were 170 pieces of archival footage and images, put together by Edinburgh-based digital artists Bright Side Studios, that made up the 5-minute visual history of The Royal Highland Show.

The events aimed to raise awareness of the show and highlight its positive impact on Scotland over the years.

They were held at eight locations across Scotland, a reference to how the show toured every area of ​​RHASS annually before settling permanently in Ingliston in 1960. These were Edinburgh City Chambers, Jedburgh Town Hall, Drumlanrig Castle and Dumfries House, Aloa Tower, Glamis Castle, Haddo House and Eastgate Shopping Centre.

RHASS President Bill Gray commented: “The Royal Highland Show is a key moment in both Events in Scotland and the Agricultural Almanac – these installations have been the perfect display of its wide-ranging influence and influence over the past two centuries.

“However, the Royal Highland Illuminated Show also looks forward to the exciting future for both the show and the community. We hope you will join us this June as we celebrate 200 years since that premiere and celebrate the full return of Scotland’s largest outdoor event.”

Supported by the Royal Bank of Scotland, The Royal Highland Show will take place at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingleston, Edinburgh, from 23-26 June 2022.

Tickets, including parking, must be purchased in advance online this year and tickets will not be available for purchase at the gate.
