At a meeting at the Ellon Legion on Monday night, Elizabeth Cameron donated her late husband Alan’s kindness to the Ellon Pipe Band for the use of the young band members, while former Major Andrew Robertson donated his late uncle’s violin to Ythan Fiddlers.

The violin was accepted by Emily Killicoat, and Elizabeth introduced the bagpipes to Ruaridh Gault.

Elon Pipe Band Secretary Susan Anderson said: “The band is very pleased with Mrs Cameron’s very kind gesture, her husband Alan has been a bagpipe player and a great supporter of the band and we are sure he will also be delighted that his bagpipes have gone to a good home and will help, For many years to come, in supporting the development of our new young players.”
