The Jets traded Elijah Moore to the Browns to help Aaron Rodgers trade

Elijah Moore got what he wished for…a little late, and the Jets got more ammunition for the Aaron Rodgers trade.

The Jets sent Moore to the Browns with a third-round pick in the NFL Draft next month to pick Cleveland in the second round, according to a source.

The Jets now have No. 42 and 43 in the draft.

The question now becomes whether they will actually use both options.

The Jets and the Packers try to work out a trade for Rodgers.

This gives them another second round pick to play with.

The Jets might not have much trouble separating with a second-round pick if they had another one to use.

It was speculated that the Jets would forgo a second-round pick this year as part of the deal.

The trade came after the Jets agreed to a one-year contract with free agent Mecole Hardman.

This signing made Moore expendable as Hardman plays mostly in the slot just like Moore.

Moore, 22, is making a fresh start with the Browns after a disappointing and tumultuous 2022 season.

Moore caught 37 passes for 446 yards and 1 touchdown last season.

In October, he requested a trade after becoming frustrated with his lack of goals on offense.

He had a blowout with former offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur in practice and was sent home and inactive for the game.

The Jets drafted Moore in the second round of the 2021 draft and he showed promise as a junior with 43 catches for 538 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games.

But he struggled to develop synergy with quarterback Zack Wilson and seemed to play better when the other quarterbacks were in the game.
