Meanwhile, in the Girls B 1m event, Amelia Aldridge and Zia Gordon placed fifth and twelfth, respectively.

Rufus Burd narrowly missed out on a medal as he finished 4th in the Group 2 boys’ 3m, but returned in resolute mood the next day and was rewarded with a gold medal in the 1m competition. He followed that up on the third day with a silver medal thanks to a series of impressive 7.5m platform dives.

Charlie Tibbets took bronze in the boys’ Group C 1m before finishing fifth in the 1m springboard. He didn’t finish it off with a run to the final of the platform competition and despite making a few mistakes due to fatigue, he rallied to get another bronze.

Toby Fiume didn’t have any competition on the first day, but she made up for lost time by outpacing the rest of the field in the Girls C 1m event for a gold medal.

Then there was more success for Fayoumi in the podiums, as she improved with a third-place finish in the heats to win a silver medal.

Club Development Officer Alice Clarke said: “Cambridge divers have shown they are ready to take on the challenge with impressive results across the board. Our athletes qualified for the national age groups in June.”
