Susannah Reed thanks Pierce Morgan for making her GMB presenter more ‘controversial’

Susannah Reid thanked former host Piers Morgan for making it more “Argumentative: Introduction.

The 52-year-old celebrated her 20th birthday hosting Morning TV on Wednesday’s episode of Good morning Britain (March 22).

He called out to Red Pierce, thanking him for making her a “more investigative” interviewer.

“Thank you very much to Piers Morgan from this parish – five years by his side,” she said. “It made me bolder, more argumentative, more difficult, and I think more probing… asking tough questions.”

“We were in battle every day,” she said. Reid said the show has “been a little bit different since he left”.

The presenter also used the opportunity to pay tribute to her late host Bill Turnbull, with whom she began hosting morning television. Turnbull died in 2022 at the age of 66 from prostate cancer.

Reid was quick to agree with Turnbull’s mention: “It really was. I started with Bill and it’s a real shame not to be able to celebrate with Bill.”

“I’d love to be able to text him this morning and talk to him about that. He’s been so amazing. Luckily, I’m surrounded by other amazing people, so I really thank you for being there with me on the trip.”

Reid also said that she spent 20 years waking up at 3.45am every morning to attend the show. “I’m still here,” she added.
