Stobo was named a finalist in the Mind Body and Soul category by a panel of industry experts along with Sheepy Sleepovers at Gartmore and Roulotte Retreat near Melrose.
The elegant spa located near Peebles was chosen by an industry committee because of the wide range of treatments available.
The castle is over 250 years old and, after falling into disrepair, was renovated and converted into a spa hotel in 1975. It lies deep in the Borders countryside surrounded by a vast pine forest and beside a tranquil lake.
Guests are welcome to relax in their robe and enjoy unlimited access to the saunas, steam rooms and swimming pool. and choose from a range of 35 different treatments.
A Stobo spokesperson said: “Scotland is home to some top class hospitality companies so to be shortlisted from over 1,000 entries and then invited to appear on the show as a finalist was a huge honor and an incredible achievement for the Stobo team.
“We took the opportunity to highlight not only what Stobo Castle has to offer but also to help promote Scotland as a whole as a preferred travel destination.”
The programming team commented, “Reaching this stage is a sign of distinction and reflects the positive experience guests had when staying at Stobo.”
Father-daughter Graham and Aimee from Dumfriesshire were chosen to judge contestants on four categories: accommodation, activities on offer, customer service and overall experience.
About Suppo Emi he said: There is no shadow of a doubt. she is beautiful. You can’t take that away from them, it’s great.” Scored Castle a 16 out of 20.
She added, “It was a luxury but I wasn’t judging the luxury. I was judging the mind, body and soul and I was trying to think about how that would affect me,
Graham added: I totally feel he’s a “zind” of me if that makes sense. He gave the castle 20 out of the maximum 20 points and continued, “The stately aspect just added to it.”
And after visiting all three companies, they chose Roulotte Retreat as the runner-up with Stobo.
In total, there are seven categories, Historic, Mind & Soul, Waterfront, Camping, Luxury, Adventure and Wild Card, and the overall winner is set to be announced during Episode VIII scheduled for Wednesday, April 5th.
