MN Weapons Owners Association chirp About Heck’s letter, written in response to questions about gun controls by Minnesota Democratic lawmakers.

General background checks and gun storage requirements are among the controls being considered, and Heck is concerned that law-abiding citizens will be affected while criminals will not.

Damn booksin part, “Overall, I have a suspicion that placing additional requirements on law-abiding gun owners will significantly affect the increases in violent crime seen in recent months primarily in major metropolitan areas. He added, “I don’t think that extending the background check requirement to personal sales would affect violent crime. In my opinion, those involved in violent crime are less likely to obtain weapons from someone who would require a criminal to provide proof of their eligibility to own a gun.”

Heck also touched on pushing gun storage, observing that “Our state already has a law that requires gun owners to ensure that their guns are stored in a way that prevents children from having access to a loaded firearm. I don’t think it should be the business of the state to enforce the manner in which individuals adhere to legal requirements for safe storage.” for firearms.”

In one part of the letter Hick noted: “In my opinion, infusing our criminal justice system with greater personal accountability for those who commit crimes and reversing the recent trend by designating parts of our political leadership to continually commute penalties and remove accountability is required.”

Watch: General Background Checks = Gun Record
