Ruth Kadiri calls out Mo Abudu and Lagos State Government for not recognising her at the Eko Star Film & TV Awards


Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri, has angrily called out  the Lagos State Government and Media Mogul, Mo Abudu for not finding her worthy for the Eko Star Film & TV Awards.

The Eko Star Film TV Awards is an award show organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism and Culture in collaboration with EbonyLife Place to honour talented female pioneers who made significant contribution to the Nigerian film Industry.

Several female celebrities were in attendance at the prestigious event, and a number of them were awarded some of which includes: Toyin Abraham, Omotola Jalade ekeinde, Nancy Isime, Omoni Oboli, zainab Balogun, Kate Henshaw.

Ruth Kadiri who was clearly not recognized took to her Instagram page to call the organisers for their sentiments and impartiality.

She wrote:

“I am a filmmaker. I am a woman. I am a hardworking woman. I have faced the struggles every woman/fillmakers has faced. Did my name at any point pop up yes. It because i donor belong to a click. Yet again I have been overlooked.

I will not be pressured. I will keep working hard @lagosstaegivt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking ne and congrats to everyone who got recognized the film industry I controlled by women, so if you’re going to do it, do it right or don’t do it at all”.
