Russia Has Placed $15 Million Bounty on Our Defence Minister’s Head, Says Italy

Italian intelligence officials claimed that the Russian government had placed a $15 million bounty on Prime Minister of Defense Guido Croceto, to target him for his assassination.

Italian intelligence alerted the Italian government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni that Russia had made a reward for Minister Crocito, who had been the subject of scorn from Russian officials this year.

One of the officials, former President Dmitry Medvedev, called the Italian defense minister a “rare fool” at the end of January, the newspaper reported. Elle Journal reports.

PMC Wagner, the private military company that was active throughout Africa and Syria and now plays a prominent role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, was also highlighted in the Italian intelligence report as being linked to the potential threat against Crosetto.

Allegedly, PMC Wagner has “cells” inside Europe Elle Journal The bounty on Prime Minister Crocito comes as PMC Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has publicly criticized Crocito over issues related to illegal immigration.

Earlier this week, Crosetto claimed that PMC Wagner was playing an active role in illegal immigration from North Africa after Italy saw three times as many immigrant arrivals so far this year than during the same period in 2022.

“I think it is now safe to say that the exponential increase in the phenomenon of emigration departing from African shores is also, to a large extent, part of a clear strategy of mixed warfare that Wagner’s division is carrying out, using its considerable weight in the war,” said Croceto.

Prigozhin responded to the minister’s remarks before sayCrocito should look less in other directions and deal with his problems, which he may not have been able to solve.

He added, “We are not involved in what is happening with the migration crisis, we are not dealing with it, and we have our own heaps of problems to deal with.”
