- University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship
The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is a prestigious award for outstanding students.
It’s a bachelor’s degree scholarship for international students beginning their studies at the university in the Fall term.
The criteria for the Scholarship include not only academic excellence but also accomplishments outside the classroom.
If you are selected for the scholarship award, applicants are eligible for funding up to $15,000, renewable annually in the second, third, and fourth year at the University of Calgary.
As a beneficiary, you are required to have achieved a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms.
In the completion of your 4 years of study, the candidate will be awarded $60,000 in total for the bachelor’s degree program.
In addition to that, applicants are required to submit English Language Proficiency before granted admission.

- Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) was created to attract and retain world-class doctoral students.
However, you will only be awarded this scholarship if you are to do a Ph.D. degree, or a combined MA/Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. program in Canada.
This was a dream for Canada to ensure that their university system is established as a center for research and higher learning.
Every year, 166 scholarships are awarded to applicants nominated by the eligible Canadian institution.
To be accepted for a Vanier CGS, applicant must be nominated by only one Canadian university.
The university that wishes to nominate you must have taken a Vanier CGS quota.
Scholarship Worth: $50,000 per year for three years.
Eligible Courses: You must apply for admission into a Ph.D or combined MA/Ph.D, or MD/Ph.D research course in the following area of study.
- Health Research

3. Waterloo International Master’s Award of Excellence
This scholarship type is offered by the University of Waterloo to applicants that want to undergo Masters’s program.
It’s open to all international students either from Afrcia or Asia countries.
Faculties will nominate eligible students based on the Faculty’s award allocation.
Each applicant is selected based on their academic performance while applying for admission at the university.
So, before you can be selected for this scholarship, the students must first apply for admission to the graduate program.
However, they is no specific courses that are eligible for this excellence awards.
The applicant must have applied for any research-based graduate program before he/she will be considered for this scholarship offer.
The scholarship award is valued at $2,500 per term for a maximum of 5 terms.
Applicants must be International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees.
The scholarship will normally be awarded to Masters degree students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
Only students entering the first term of their program are eligible.
Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty.
You must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements.
However, international applicants are automatically considered for this scholarship after evaluating their documents.
Scholarship Worth: $2,500 per term for 5 terms of your masters program.

4. The University of Ottawa President and Chancellor’s Scholarships
The University of Ottawa is offering international students who are commencing full-time Bachelors’s degree studies at the university.
However, it focuses on international students that wish to understudy any courses at the university.
This award also happens to be one of the most prestigious scholarships at the University of Ottawa.
The scholarship can be renewed every year for 3 years provided the student maintains full-time enrolment.
The University also provides a one-time award of $1,500 to applicants in second, third, and fourth place.
Students can renew their scholarship at 50% of the annual value if they have a CGPA between 8.00 and 8.49 at the top of the academic year.
They can also renew their scholarship for the full amount in a subsequent year if their CGPA increases to 8.50 or higher.
Before you can be considered for this scholarship award, you are expected to hold a student visa and have a minimum admission average of 92%.
You need to demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to academic excellence.
Scholarship Worth: $30,000 ($7,500 per year) for presidential scholars while Chancellor’s scholars is $26,000 ($6,500 per year).

This is one of the Canadian scholarships at the University of Toronto for both Masters and Ph.D programs.
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program encourages excellence in graduate studies at publicly-assisted universities in Ontario.
Since 1975, the OGS program has been providing merit-based scholarships in Canada to Ontario’s best graduate students in all disciplines of academic study.
The scholarship program is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and the University of Toronto.
The Province allocates OGS awards to universities specifying the number of awards that each may offer to their students annually.
Scholarship Worth: $5,000 will be paid per session to selected scholars for 3 consecutive academic sessions.
However, the graduate applicant will have to contribute one-third cost of studying at the university.
