During a portion of an NBC News interview that aired Wednesday on the “NBC Nightly News” podcast, Clinton County, New York, Sheriff David Favreau (D) stated that there should be more Border Patrol agents along the US-Canada border because Currently there are not enough people to cover the area.
NBC News Homeland Security Correspondent Julia Ainslie asked, “Do Border Patrol need more people here?”
Favreau replied, “Well, sure. There aren’t enough people to be able to cover all of this.”
As Ainslie mentioned, “In the last week, Border Patrol has added 25 personnel to this sector, some of whom were transferred from the southern border. They say it will deter immigration, but local police here say they need more.”
