members of RMT will take part in a 24-hour industrial strike on Monday In an ongoing dispute over wages.
Madeley was questioning Lynch about the recent spate of strikes on Good Morning Britain, saying people were “appalled” by the “unkind act”.
The lieutenant colonel asked why the strikes could not be moved to January instead of during the holidays.
He also accused the RMT of “stealing” the income of hospitality workers, as many may not have transportation to get to the venues.

A pre-Christmas rant.

Lynch replied, “Well, we’re not targeting Christmas, it’s not Christmas yet Richard, I don’t know when your Christmas starts but mine starts on Christmas Eve, so we’re hitting at that time because we haven’t settled.”
Madeley responded by accusing Lynch of being “a disingenuous” and saying that the “Christmas commercial” began at the beginning of December.
Lynch dismissed the claim and asked to end the question before Madeley continued on about the union leader.
“Richard, you’re just talking to yourself, you’re screaming. Richard, you’re screaming,” Lynch said.
He added, “Right, are you done then because you’re just rant now.”

The guild president said: “Richard, why don’t you just interview yourself.”
Many took to Twitter to share their reactions to the video, including SNP John Nicholson.
“This is a truly awful interview,” said the rep. #MickLynch is right when he says, “You’re just yelling” and “You’re only talking to yourself.”
This is a really horrible interview. #mclench He corrects himself when he says “You’re just yelling” and “You’re only talking to yourself”. But it is not a fair fight. The interviewee is very smart, articulate vs…. well, listen up. https://t.co/Ax8XZ8wVkK

But it is not a fair fight. The interviewee is very intelligent, eloquent for…a good listener.”
Another user described Madley’s line of questioning as “absolutely pathetic” while another accused him of “seeking to paint those strikers in the worst possible light”.
The RMT also retweeted the clip with the caption: “Partridge in the pear tree. A pre-Christmas rant. You name it you’ll enjoy it and Richard Madley shared an interview with himself!”
