The 26-year-old underwent life-saving 10-hour surgery last weekend and slipped into an induced coma.
He has since emerged from the coma to begin his recovery period.
Since then he has been inundated with messages of support.
Former Netherdale teammate Zander Murray tweeted his support as did former clubs Gala Fairydean Rovers and Berwick Rangers and current Lothian club Thistle Hutchison Vale where he is captain.

Gala Fairydean Rovers Chairman Ryan Cass said: “I have kept in touch with Scott who has been a huge figure during his time at the club. Everyone at the Gala Fairydean Rovers party sends our best wishes to him and we are all praying for his speedy recovery.”

Former Vale of Leithen coach Joe Murray who was a team mate of Scott’s at Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale said: “Scott is an absolute winner and a fighter who always shows great determination and we hope he gets back playing soon. I would like to send him my best wishes for a speedy recovery.”
