After an in-person consultation event that was to be held in Ellon was postponed by McDonald’s to show its proposal for a site on Castle Road, the online version is now open for comments.
The chain announced last week that it plans to open a restaurant and drive-in in the Castle Road area of the city last week.
The proposed project consists of a single storey building with 19 parking spaces.
A public consultation was scheduled to take place at the New Inn in town on Wednesday before any move is made to apply the official planning.
But with the warning of the possibility of bad weather in the northeast, which has not yet materialized, it has been postponed with a later date yet to be confirmed.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: ‘Unfortunately, we had to postpone the dip at the event originally planned for Wednesday.
“We look forward to rescheduling soon and as soon as this is confirmed we will be back in touch with the local community.
“Online counseling, however, is now live.”
The company has created a website dedicated to the project at https://mcdonaldsconsultation.co.uk/ellon/ With a deadline for submitting opinions of the 29th March indicating that the site will be next door to an existing Tesco petrol station on a vacant lot.
