Jack Shore didn’t want to fight at UFC 286 because of his father’s chemotherapy
Leon Edwards defended his welterweight title against Kamaru Usman tonight, in the main event of UFC 286 at London’s O2 Arena.
Jamaican-born Edwards dethroned Usman in stunning fashion in August, taking the belt from the Nigerian American to become the second-ever British UFC champion.
For Edwards, the result was also revenge for a points loss to Usman in 2015, meaning that tonight’s main event will conclude a hat-trick between the pair.
In the co-main event, former interim lightweight champ Justin Gaithi takes on rookie contender Rafael Fizeev, in a fight that is almost certain to steal the show.

We’ll go over the judges’ scorecards. A great final round by Gaethje, who seemed to land fewer punches during the entire fight but did more damage.

Vizieff marks Gaethje with a powerful punch as he tackles. He lands more strikes – real variety – and Gaethje looks dazed…
However, the American still pulled away from the blows. Forehand kick by Physiev, but his opponent is out of range. A solid body kick by Vizieff, who grabs the knees and lands them on the body. Gaethje tries a big letter before the couple breaks up.
Gaethje lands a trio of uppercuts, before attempting to remove one leg – to no avail.

Solid hooks from Gaethje now, though, after he saves a head kick! Stiff knee down for Fiziev! What a fight!

The atmosphere is great here. Vezieff points to Giethje; Referee Mark Goddard smiles at both fighters.
Once again Physiev takes the position. Gaethje leans in to kick his head, but somehow seems unfazed!
Another round of Ollie circles the ring. Both lightweights land good punches, before Vizieff clinches.
A good knee is broken by the Azerbaijani, who then complains about a poke in the eye. The action will be paused for the time being.

Gaethje tries to remove, but Fiziev ignores it! A rare use of wrestling by Gaethje, who has massive proportions but never seems to strike. This is just his second takedown attempt in the UFC.
Huge knee landing for Fiziev as he slams the field!! What a fun first round.
