Israeli occupation authorities have continued to restrict Palestinian access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan, while settler incursions continue and the allotted time has increased by 30 minutes.
Nizam Abu Rumouz was arrested at the Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday when the Israelis were storming the holy Muslim site. He was interrogated and released with a ban on entering Al-Aqsa for six months. Abu Ramouz said his previous ban from the mosque had expired on the day of his arrest. He has been banned from the site 16 times, each time for a period of between one and six months. Each prohibition order came into effect either the day before the first one expired or on the day they were due to expire, he explained.
Raeda Saida was also arrested yesterday and her detention was extended until Thursday. The occupation authorities repeatedly prevented her from entering the mosque.
Abdullah Daana, Salih Fakhouri and Mohammed Abu Farha have also been banned from entering Al-Aqsa for a week. The ban may be extended or renewed.
Far-right Israeli groups have increased calls for incursions into Al-Aqsa ahead of the Passover holiday which is due to take place at the end of April.
