Is this a train on top of Leaderfoot Bridge?

But viewers from the Borders might have been surprised to see a train on top of the bridge more than 50 years after the tracks had been removed and there was no sign of the Eildon Hills or the River Tweed thanks to some computer magic. Watch the trailer here.

In June 2021, Harrison Ford visited the Scottish Borders to film scenes from the film, now called “The Dial of Destiny”.

And before filming, he was seen in Melrose shopping for some traditional Scottish sweets at Martin Baird Butchers and Abbey Fine Wines.

News spread quickly and when the 78-year-old star hit the bridge in his signature leather jacket and fedora hat, crowds gathered on the nearby road bridge to catch a glimpse of the A-lister actor.

Among those present was Border Telegraph Camera Club member Neil Renton, who captured the scenes and kindly provided him with these pictures.

Jones was joined by Captain America star Toby Jones for the photoshoot.

The film is directed by James Mangold, and stars Antonio Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and John Rhys-Davies.

The blockbuster will be the fifth in the franchise and is scheduled for release on June 30, 2023.
