The INSCH crossing is scheduled to be closed next month for five days.
The B9002 Insch to Kennethmont Road at the crossing will be closed for railway maintenance work.
Starting April 23, the lockdown will last until April 27.
Drivers will encounter a long detour, having to take the B992 Insch to the A96, the A96 at the Mill of Newton to Huntly, the A96 Huntly to the A97, the A97 to the B9002 Kennethmont and the B9002 to Insch.
The works will be carried out by Network Rail and Sunbelt TM.
A council spokesperson said emergency vehicles would continue to arrive throughout the work.
Pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained for residents whenever possible.
Location notifications will be placed soon, to indicate the impact of traffic and alternative routes.
