Nigeria trio group of young talented comedians popularly known as,Ikorodu Bois,seems to be wagging stronger in their career.
The renowned teen comedians have been enlisted to feature in Netflix’s Oscar Film Brand Campaign.
The teen comedians who made wave following their exceptional and creative mimicking of celebrity videos and some Hollywood movies have paved way for them both in Nigeria and across the world.
According to Netflix in a statement released exclusively to The Punch, it stated that the campaign is targeted at fans and lovers of the company who not only love watching but recreating scenes from Netflix movies.
His statement reads:
“Netflix’s wife reach has woken up a new generation of global film fans, allowing them to discover more diverse perspectives, see themselves reflected, and inspiring new forms of movie love.
Once a year, the Oscar pierce the culture and out movies on our collective minds, and this year, we are putting the spotlight on the Ikorodu Bois to remind movie fans that fans are the most important part of the movies.
The year 2020/21 has been a weird and wonderful year for films and film lovers and our films brought joy and hope to the industry, and more importantly, to the fans. In seeing the Ikorodu Bois channel their creativity into remakes/tribute of their favorite movie, we see the joy of being a fan”.
According to the Vice President of Netflix, Eric Pallotta, the reason for choosing Ikorodu Bois is to celebrate them for inspiring the Netflix team to make more movies.
“We chose to spotlight the Ikorodu Bois because their style is both charming and unique, using a mix of DIY craft and childlike joy to recreate mega-budget films on a shoestring”.
