The Scots entered the game in a confident mood after their victory over Wales two weeks ago and their strong performance against England in the opening match of the tournament.
Brown made it to the score list with his third attempt at the 2023 Under-20 Six Nations Championship, and Tait played a key role in Rowrayd Hart’s effort.

The French led 33-12 at halftime and Rutherford announced he was benched.
But despite the Scots’ best efforts it was not to be and in the end a well-fitted French team proved too strong for the young Scots.
The full match report will appear in the Border Telegraph next week.
