GOP Rep. Massie on Calls for Censorship to Prevent Bank Runs: ‘That’s Their Go-to Now for the Democrats’

On Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Waters Tonight,” Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) responded to allegations that Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) proposed oversight as a way to prevent a run on banking institutions.

The Kentucky Republican confirmed the interaction in a phone call, adding that the censorship tactic had become a “move” for the Democratic Party.

“I hear something was said on a call with you today,” said host Jesse Waters. “Someone said you’re not even allowed to talk about running banks. Is that true?”

Massey replied, “Yeah, there was a senator—I think it was Mark Kelly who asked if we had a good program to censor this stuff in social media, or to censor information, so there wouldn’t be a bank run.” . The problem is, he didn’t say he wanted to censor false or foreign information. It kind of left it open. And I mean, that’s scary to me. That is their goal now for the Democrats. Let’s censor our way to the solution.

Watters replied, “Censorship and printing—that’s the basic deal.”
