One expert has claimed that Germany is rapidly descending into an “environmental dictatorship” under the country’s green economy minister.
Professor Manuel Freundel, a member of RWI Essen (Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, Essen), criticized Robert Habeck, Germany’s Minister for Economics and Climate Change, saying that the country was turning into an “environmental dictatorship” under his watch.
The statement came in response to Habeck’s latest big reset plan that would see oil and gas heating completely banned in the country from 2045, with the minister also planning to implement restrictions on heating systems allowed in the German market much earlier.
With Habeck also implementing several other already controversial energy policies, this was apparently the last straw for Professor Freundel, who expressed outrage about the proposed plan.
“Germany is on the way to ecological dictatorship,” the Kaiser who is a think tank Tell Build. “I was horrified by Robert Habeck’s ban plans [gas and oil] heating. “
The professor went on to add that while it would make sense to apply economic restrictions to non-renewable sources of home heating, allowing people to switch to cleaner methods at their own pace, that would make an adjustment by 2045. The mark.
As a result, bans are ultimately “an unacceptable interference with property rights” in Germany, Freundel argued, who ultimately called the planned reforms “unnecessary”.

Freundel’s criticism, though it was the latest of Minister Habeck’s, is not the first to hit the ruling German official, as the current government’s handling of the ongoing energy crisis has angered even some of Germany’s Green allies.
The Green Minister’s handling of the energy crisis has not left many in the country well off, as soaring electricity and gas prices have wreaked havoc on both citizens and businesses within the EU nation-state.
In fact, things got so bad that at one point, the sub-Saharan nation of Namibia launched an initiative to encourage Germans to migrate to the country during the winter months, with authorities in the African country saying that any potential immigrants would not have to worry about rising energy prices.
“You can live and work here during the winter, and you don’t have to be afraid of high heating costs like in Germany!” said one Namibian official. “We always have electricity!”
However, such a dire energy situation wasn’t enough to dissuade the country’s progressive politicians from deprioritizing their targets, as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was eventually forced to bypass those in the rco-uling Green party to keep Germany’s three remaining nuclear power plants online.
Despite receiving many warnings from potential allies in Europe, including Greta Thunberg, Germany’s ruling politicians insisted factories should be shut down despite the dangers of last winter’s blackouts, which were ultimately averted by unseasonably warm weather. the usual.
