The 78-year-old was convicted of a series of sexual offenses in 2015 and sentenced to 16 years in prison, but was released on February 3, 2023 after serving half of his sentence.
Now Glitter – whose real name is Paul Gad – has been returned to custody just over a month after his release.
Glitter was returned to prison on Monday, after breaching the terms of his license, and his re-release will be a matter for the parole board.
Commenting on his return to custody, a spokesperson for the Monitoring Service said: “Protecting the public is our number one priority. That’s why we have strict licensing terms in place and when offenders breach them, we don’t hesitate to return them to custody.”
