Fact Check: Joe Biden Falsely Claimed Hunter Never Made Millions

The Claim: President Joe Biden claimed In a 2020 debate with former President Donald Trump, he said his “son didn’t make money from China”.

Verdict: False. Hunter and the Biden family business made millions in 2017 from Chinese business deals.

According to Hunter’s statement Thursday, not only has Hunter acknowledged that the Biden family’s company received money from China, but that Hunter, James and Haley Biden each received money from China. According to the House Oversight Committee this week, the little-known “Biden” — along with Hunter, James and Haley — received $1.3 million collectively.

Hunter’s spokesperson acknowledged, “Hunter received his share of the seed money in good faith that he shared with his uncle, James Biden, and Haley Biden, with whom he was involved at the time, and shared expenses.”

Joe Biden and his team have claimed at least seven times that Joe Biden was not involved in the family business. At least 18 pieces of evidence suggest otherwise.

“I never spoke to my son about his business dealings overseas. Here’s what I know — I know Trump deserves to be investigated,” Joe Biden claimed in 2019.

Breitbart News requested comment from the White House about Hunter’s admission of China money and whether Joe Biden still believes Hunter has not received money from China, as Joe Biden once denied. The White House did not respond.

Breitbart News also asked for comment on whether the president still stands by his statement that he never spoke to Hunter about the Biden family business, even though congressional whistleblowers claim Joe Biden indirectly benefited from the Biden family business, raising questions about what If Joe Biden is written into the family’s business deals off the books, such as one in which a Biden family associate named Joe Biden as the “big guy” who would get 10 percent, the White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Regarding the anonymous “Biden” who received payments from China, the White House did not respond to a request for comment about who the anonymous “Biden” might be or whether the “Biden” is Joe Biden.

Breitbart News also questioned the White House if aides to Joe Biden were still standing by their claim that Joe Biden was not involved in the family business. Again, Breitbart News received no response.
