Eurovision 2023: Mae Muller selected to work in the UK on BBC Radio 2

The 25-year-old singer will perform at the event in Liverpool with the song I Wrote A Song, which was revealed on BBC Radio 2 this morning.

Mueller was chosen by the heads of the BBC and the global management company TaP Music, which counted Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding among its clients.

“I wrote the song I wrote a song a few months ago when I was going through hard times and wanted to feel strong about relationships, so being chosen for this year’s UK Eurovision song is honestly a dream.”

Who is May Mueller?

The north London-raised singer will be the first woman to enter the UK since SuRie competed in 2018 with Storm, who comes in 24th.

Mueller was 19 when she wrote her first song, Close, which was produced by a family friend and “paid” for with wine rather than money.

Muller has 126,000 followers on Instagram and more than 6.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

In 2019, she supported Little Mix on the LM5 Tour – their last tour to feature former member Jesy Nelson.
