Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) said Thursday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” that Fox News’ Tucker Carlson coverage of videos from the January 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot was “dangerous.”
Cooper asked, “I want to ask about the criticism Speaker McCarthy has received from the Senate Republicans who released 40,000 hours of security footage on Jan. 6 attacking and manipulating Tucker Carlson. How serious are these persistent attempts to rewrite the history of what happened in That day, in your opinion?”
Warren said, “Obviously what he’s trying to do is exactly as I’ve said he’s trying to rewrite history. That too is dangerous in a more urgent sense. Editing all the tapes for someone like that now means all camera angles are known, where you’re covered, where you’re not, And where are the emergency exit routes, where you take someone like the vice president to try and keep him out of harm’s way. That’s about short-term security, for now. And just to hand that over for political purposes to try to reconfigure a narrative that goes against what America has seen with its own eyes, that’s dangerous. Really. It is appalling that the person who is now in charge of the House of Representatives would do this not only to others in Congress but to America.”
