House Republican Caucus Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the first member of the House or Senate to endorse former President Donald Trump’s bid for president, dismissed Trump’s expected arrest as a politically motivated attack by “left-wing prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and Their socialist allies “because the Democrats” can’t beat President Trump at the polls.
In a statement released Saturday, Stefanik warned that any indictment would ultimately bolster Trump with support heading into the 2024 election cycle. “What these corrupt left-wing prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and their socialist allies fail to understand is that America’s First Patriots have never been so active,” she said. to exercise their constitutional rights to peacefully organize and vote at the ballot box to save our great republic.”
“This is un-American, and the radical left has reached a dangerous new low in third world countries,” Stefanik continued. “Knowing that they cannot defeat President Trump at the polls, the radical left will now follow in the footsteps of the socialist dictators and reportedly arrest President Trump, the leading Republican candidate for President of the United States.”
Stefanik also explained that Trump’s expectation that he would be arrested on Tuesday “is nothing but a continuation of the disgraceful and unconstitutional pattern that goes back to the illegal Russian collusion hoax to try to silence and suppress the will of voters who support President Trump and the America First movement.”
On Saturday, Trump said he expects to be arrested on Tuesday based on “illegal leaks” from the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is investigating Trump’s alleged role in amassing money paid to Stormy Daniels.
In 2022, Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg reduced 52% of all felony charges to misdemeanor
Now he’s raising the misdemeanor to a felony that the Federal Reserve has refused to prosecute to indict President Trump.

Legal experts believe the Attorney General’s case against Trump is shaky. “The case is pathetic legally,” said Jonathan Turley, a professor of public interest law at George Washington University.
“Bragg is fighting to twist state laws to effectively prosecute a long-dismissed federal case against Trump over his payment of ‘hush money’ to former stripper Stormy Daniels,” books In the hill. “It is very difficult to prove that the payment of money to cover up an embarrassing case was made for electoral purposes rather than for a host of other obvious reasons, from protecting a celebrity’s reputation to preserving a marriage.”
