One of the North East’s leading hotels celebrates a double win at the prestigious National Awards in recognition of its reputation for wedding excellence.
Norwood Hall, the city’s Aberdeen country house, has been awarded Wedding Venue of the Year (North) at the Scottish Wedding Awards after fierce competition from across the region.
It was a night to remember with the hotel also being awarded Local Wedding Show of the Year for the famous annual Norwood Hall Fire Wedding.
The winners were announced during a black tie ceremony held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow with the judges impressed by the Norwood team’s commitment to providing brides and grooms with first class customer service.
Stephane Portis, General Manager at Norwood Hall commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded and recognized by our peers in the industry in this way clearly demonstrates the high standards we continually set and aim to deliver to all guests.
“We are fortunate to have many long-serving employees who, with their knowledge and experience of what it takes to make a wedding a success, play a huge role in our ability to provide consistent, high-quality service.
“I would like to commend the entire team for their hard work and dedication to making sure each wedding party has the best possible experience when choosing Norwood as the venue for their special day.”
Having been named Wedding Venue of the Year at the Top Tier Awards in both 2019 and 2022, this latest Norwood Awards success is a welcome tribute to the hotel’s dedicated team of wedding professionals.
In 2022, they helped deliver a record 125 weddings.
The hotel never hosts more than one wedding party on any given day to ensure complete focus on each couple.
It caters for celebrations of all sizes, from up to 200 people on the venue’s ballroom to smaller, more intimate affairs in the library or private function rooms.
Norwood’s famous Tapestry Restaurant features traditional Scottish décor and is committed to providing the very best produce and locally sourced ingredients. Likewise, the menu for each wedding or event can be tailored to suit individual tastes or preferences while keeping the focus on the quality of the food and drink.
Stephan added: “Norwood is a truly unique place, not only in terms of the character of the property itself but also in terms of our versatility to cater to any requests for every occasion, no matter the size of the event.
“We had the pleasure of hosting a record number of weddings last year, and we are grateful to everyone who chose to celebrate their big day with the hotel. Our team is looking forward to another very busy year for weddings at the hotel.”
Built in 1881, the four-star hotel caters to weddings all year round and is the ideal setting for leisure or business guests, with state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities within walking distance.
