Terrifying moment, motorcyclist is sent flying through the air and his bike is smashed to pieces after crashing into a car at a busy intersection

It is fortunate that the motorcyclist is alive after being hit by a car at a busy intersection and flying a meter into the air.
Dashcam footage captured the crash on Trafalgar Road, in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Camberwell around 2.40pm on 22 February.
The footage showed a blue motorcycle suddenly appearing to the right of the screen, speeding into the field of vision before hitting directly the car that was coming from the left and turning to the right.
The motorcycle was instantly smashed to pieces, flung into the air, as the rider flew meters on the other side of the road.
The cyclist turned his head over heels twice, bouncing his head off the ground, before sliding all the way down and out of sight.

A motorcyclist was lucky to survive a horrific accident (pictured) that hit them with a car in a suburb of Melbourne, in what a witness said looked like a “Hollywood action movie”.
Surprisingly, Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia that the cyclist only sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The male driver of the car was unharmed while the passenger sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.
People seemed to freeze from the horror of the accident, and remained in their cars as if nothing had happened.

In the end, with the seconds ticking away with no one apparently available to help the rider, one man ran across the road to see what he could do and another followed soon after.
The cars kept turning, as if nothing had happened, seemingly oblivious to the fact that a man might die a few feet away from them.

Real estate agent Nick Tang, whose dashcam did the video recording, was stopped at a red light at the time.
He was on the phone with a client, and he said he was in shock for 30-40 seconds.
I didn’t know what to do and didn’t expect to witness this on a normal day at work. I felt like I was watching a scene from an extreme Hollywood movie in person.
“I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life.”
He said that the broken parts of the bike damaged the lower front panel of his car.
Mr. Tang got out of his car after a few minutes to see if the motorcyclist and driver needed help.
“The driver of the car was taking his wife home from the grocery store,” Tang said. “The police and emergency team arrived about 10-15 minutes later.”
Police investigations into the collision are still ongoing.
