Cambridge United’s senior professional development coach Peter Gill has stepped down as first-team manager of non-league side St Neots Town.
Gill has been in charge of the Saints since the summer of 2021 when he replaced Barry Corr after he rose to become part of U’s manager Mark Bonner’s senior coaching group.
Corr and Gill both took over the position at St Neots after striking a deal with United in 2020, which saw a number of Sky Bet League One youths spend time on loan with Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division. like.
However, Gill has now elected to move on against St Neots in a fight to maintain their Step 4 status.
Sean Gregos, who is the son of former United goalkeeper Dean and the club’s current goalkeeper coach, and Elite Scholarship manager Mark Abbott, will oversee the remainder of the campaign at St Neots.
