A prolific Cambridge shop and bicycle thief has been jailed for nine months.
Stephen Foote, 25, without a fixed address, was sentenced at Cambridge Magistrates Court last Thursday (March 8) after pleading guilty to bicycle theft, general assault, criminal damage, knife possession, attempted shoplifting and 12 counts of shoplifting. .
Foot stole Nihola’s £2,200 freight bike from Luard Road in Cambridge on 9 February and tried to sell it for only £50 when he was arrested by the police.
Between 19 January and 28 February, he stole over £1,400 worth of perfume, meat, coffee, computer gaming equipment and washing powder from a John Lewis, Co-Op, The Perfume Shop, Levi’s, Game and BP garage.
PC Rob Tindall said: “Foot is an opportunistic thief who has caused misery to many businesses and individuals with his many crimes. Cambridge is a much safer place while he is in prison and we hope he uses this time to turn his life around.”
