Brittany Higgins outfits her luxurious new rental home with the latest appliances while she explores the neighborhood with her fiancé.
The former political staffer and her groom, David Schraz, moved into the beachfront home on the Gold Coast about two weeks ago.
Mrs. Higgins left Brisbane to finish her law degree at Bond University on the Gold Coast after securing a substantial settlement with the Commonwealth.
The payout followed the failed trial of fellow Liberal Bruce Lerhmann, who Ms Higgins has accused of raping her on a sofa in Parliament House.

The refrigerator will join other expensive furnishings in the upscale home, including a $500 white velvet mirror and a $330 ornate side table.
Later in the day, Mrs. Higgins and Mr. Schraz took a stroll around the Gold Coast and visited a local café.
Sharaz wore the same dark green T-shirt and shorts he threw on to crank the fridge, while Mrs. Higgins opted for a summer dress in the Queensland heat.
The picnic also brought something else into the house to set up the new home with Mr. Sharaz carrying tiny potted cacti around town.
More furnishings for their home are on the way as removals vacated their Brisbane home on Thursday.
Workers were seen carrying furniture and bags of belongings out of the house and loading them into a moving truck.

The couple showed off their new home in social media posts when they moved in, with photos showing how close it was to the beach.
Her mother, Kelly Higgins, a real estate agent, commented: “It’s exactly what my angel deserves.”
‘Beautiful home in a beautiful location.’ So many happy memories to share and make. I miss you already xx.
Mr. Sharaz, who quit his job with Southern Cross Austereo in mid-February, posted his own photo of a beach near their new home with the caption, “No, I don’t miss 9-5.”
Ms Higgins reached a compensation settlement with the Commonwealth in December for an undisclosed amount, after she attempted to sue to seek damages for sexual harassment, discrimination and neglect.
She later denied claims that her payment was worth $3 million — insisting she received “much less,” and threatening legal action if the figure was repeated.

In October, the month-long trial in the ACT Supreme Court against her alleged rapist, Mr. Lerman, was aborted due to jury misconduct.
She alleged that Mr Lerman raped her on Parliament Hill after a night out in March 2019. He has pleaded not guilty and maintains his innocence.
The ACT’s Director of Public Prosecutions, Shane Drumgold, dropped the case altogether in December, citing concerns about Ms Higgins’ mental health.
Mr. Lerman sued Channel 10, Lisa Wilkinson and News Corp in federal court for publishing stories about Higgins’ allegations in February 2021.
The first day of the proceedings on Thursday did not go well for him, as he was questioned about drunken text messages he had sent to his then-girlfriend when Mrs. Higgins appeared in public.
Lerman’s girlfriend at the time, Greta Sinclair, was distraught at the unusual televised accusations.
He calms her down by sending letters implying that his lawyer told him he was a “pawn” and “part of a larger political job”.

During cross-examination in Sydney Federal Court on Thursday, Mr Lerman admitted to Teen lawyer Matthew Collins that Mr Korn never said that.
He reassured her, “If I’m named tonight, I’m in for millions in a libel case… (Mr. Korn) said I wouldn’t see the courtroom light.”
Later that evening, at 10.02pm, he sent Mrs. Sinclair another message saying: [Mr Korn] He continues to take notes though, very professional.
Under cross-examination in court, Lerman admitted that Korn had not in fact been taking notes during their conversation and insisted he only wanted to make Mrs. Sinclair feel good.
“I wanted her to think my house was okay.”
Dr. Collins suggested that the meeting with Mr. Korn “wasn’t at all professional” because “you were there pouring your heart out and drinking scotch” and “wasn’t Mr. Korn taking any notes?”
Mr. Lerman admitted: “It wasn’t. Not as I remember, no.
