BBC viewers sign petition against Grenfell Tower

The Change.Org petition, which accuses the BBC of recreating “the brutal events for their own entertainment purposes”, has received nearly 2,000 signatures.

The petition reads: “It has been less than 6 years since the fire that took the lives of 72 innocent people and left hundreds of others grieving without any justice.

“Many people still suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and many cannot return to their old neighborhood because of the trauma they experienced that night.

“There are still survivors waiting for a permanent home.

Despite all this, the BBC decided that they wanted to recreate the brutal events for their own entertainment, claiming that it would spread awareness with the permission of the residents and survivors.

“I feel sick that the most disturbing and traumatic night of our lives should be turned into a television program that people across the country will watch from the comforts of their own homes with a cup of tea.”

The petition you can view hereHe adds: “.This is just another example of the higher powers taking the autonomy of marginalized society away from them, and disguising themselves as an aid to their cause.

“I demand that the BBC stop making Grenfell fire TV dramas. I demand that they not add more trauma to people who are still grieving the loss of their loved ones.

One signatory said: “The drama cannot begin to depict the suffering and trauma endured by the residents of Lancaster West and those living under the tower. It is too early to think that the 1,000 are still suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Another added, “I lost people I knew and loved in that tower, we must not live it again.”
