The former Rangers star was less than impressed with Morelos in Hampden’s defeat by Celtic in the Fiaplay Cup final last month.
He was frustrated after watching the Colombian play several times this season.
Bill Morelos called for more energy as he updated fans on the contract situation for the forward who is free to discuss an exit in the summer.
The Ibrox chairman said: “Alfredo’s situation is a bit different (from Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent). He’s been at the club for a long time and I need to see more of Alfredo day by day.
“When he plays when the team needs him, he’s fine.
“But I want more energy in the final third.
“Can he provide that? If he can, he’s a better option than he’s been in the past few months.”
Numan believes there is evidence of significant frustration with Bell over Morelos’ recent offers because he has supported the situation.

in 5 stars He said: “It was a very honest assessment from Michael.
“I would suggest that there is manager frustration with Alfredo and I fully understand why. I’ve only made a handful of appearances this season and was annoyed by his attitude on the lawn, especially in the Fableplay Cup final against Celtic. He wanted him to give more.”
While Numan backed up Bell’s recent comments on Morelos, he continued to insist that there would be no need for the manager’s involvement in such an old Ibrox dressing room as the one he was a part of.
He added: “If he had been in our dressing room 20 or 25 years ago under Dick Advocaat or Alex McLeish, we wouldn’t have needed the manager’s involvement – the dressing room would have taken over. We wouldn’t have been complacent and asked for more.”
“There is no doubt that Alfredo is a very good striker but you have to have the full package and be willing to use it every day of the week.
“It’s not good to pick and choose when you’re ready to give your all and fight for the club.
“For a £1m transfer fee, Alfredo was fantastic value and has done a very good service for Rangers. But his contract expired in the summer and the time is right to part ways, in my opinion.
“Alfredo was with my best wishes. It is up to Michael and the recruitment department to find a better option than Alfredo.”
