Argyle McCoist, son of the legendary goalscorer, made his debut for Port Glasgow Juniors during last Saturday’s match against Irvine Victoria after a successful trial period at the club.
Port manager Stevie Wilson said he had had Argyll on his radar for some time and was delighted to make the move official.
Argyll’s proud father could be seen cheering him on from the sidelines during their weekend game, which ended in a 3-1 defeat for the Undertakers.
The 24-year-old striker has scored five goals over his three appearances while on trial with his new club, drawing comparisons to his father’s prolific record.
Manager Stevie said he was delighted to have the former Yoker Athletic and Harmony Row players on board.
