Alec Baldwin retweets the gun control message after the Nashville shooting

Alec Baldwin took to his Instagram account to share a screenshot of a viral tweet from musician Peter Frampton following the mass shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville this week.

The post reads, ’26 years ago, a gunman entered Dunblane Primary School in Scotland, killing 16 children and a teacher.’

He continued, ‘The UK government responded by enacting strict gun control legislation. In the last 9400+ days, there have been a total of 0 school shootings in the UK.’

While the 64-year-old actor’s message seems to be condoning guns, Baldwin has come under fire for his ongoing legal troubles.

Meanwhile, Baldwin’s Instagram post came after the school shooting in Nashville earlier this week.

The shooter was identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale, who was also a student at the Christian academy.

In addition, she killed three 9-year-old students as well as three adults.

Additionally, first responders found Hale on the second floor of the school with an assault weapon and a handgun. The officers shot her.

Social media users react to Alec Baldwin’s gun control post

Baldwin’s recent post about gun control measures seems to have failed to impress many internet users.

Additionally, they asked him to inadvertently shoot ‘Rust’ cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.

A user wrote, ‘Is the man who killed someone with a gun, lecturing people on gun violence? Well, I think he has personal knowledge.’

Someone else chimed in saying, ‘Read the room, Alec. You are incredible.’

Another user added: ‘Reposted by the man who shot and killed a woman with a gun??!’

Another user went on to say, ‘Is it weird that Alec is posting on gun control??’

More about Alec Baldwin’s alleged murder

Alec Baldwin was filming for the American Western film Rust in 2021 when a prop gun was loaded with live ammunition for unclear reasons.

Additionally, he likely pulled the trigger and struck Halyna Hutchins, who eventually died from her injuries.

The 30 Rock alum is on trial for manslaughter in New Mexico where he shot Hutchins on board. He could face up to 18 months in prison if found guilty.
