A mall security guard has been dragged away by a runaway truck while trying to arrest the alleged thief of a giant foam carrot.
Police in Pennsylvania say the suspect ran after a carrot stick from the Easter Show at Clearview Mall in Butler City.
Pennsylvania State Police forces responded to the mall after a giant carrot was reported stolen and a security guard stated that he chased the suspect in a dark red Chevy truck into the parking lot.
Police say that when a security guard tried to open the truck door, he was dragged about a quarter of a mile at up to 35 miles per hour.
The guard was not injured in the accident.
“Fortunately, he is fine and has no injuries,” said Clearview general manager Mandy DeSantis told WPXI.
After an anonymous tip, police eventually tracked down the stolen item to a home in Chicora, Pennsylvania.
